Hi, my name is Mrs. Rankin.
This is my tenth year at Newman Catholic Elementary. This will be my ninth year of teaching third
grade. I taught one year of kindergarten. I also taught third grade for one year at St. John the Baptist in Bancroft, Iowa.
I received my undergraduate from Loras College. I completed my Master's of Education at Viterbo University.
During this upcoming year my focus will be on helping your child love math! With our new math series
we will have the opportunity to learn more about problem solving and become familiar with multiplication and division facts.
I am very excited about our new religion text books and hope they help develop your child's Christian beliefs.
I have been married four years. My husband Dave
is an assistant manager at Mills Fleet Farm here in Mason City. We were blessed with a daughter this past March,
Isabella. We enjoy watching her grow and all of the changes she has made in the last five months. We love animals. Right now,
Dave and I have a cat and dog. Our cat's name is Tigger, and our dog's name is Rocky.
I enjoy being outdoors, exercising, and
spending time with my family. I like many children's books. A few of my favorites are A Bad Case of Stripes,
The Summer of Riley, Charlotte's Web, The Polar Express, and Frindle. I enjoy all
kinds of music from classical to rock.
